This is awesome! I most usually use this for applesauce, and to process my tomatoes. For applesauce: I do not peel the apples, instead just wash, pare bruises, quarter, remove stem and pare blossom end. I pile the quarters into my oven roaster, cover, and put into a 300F oven, until soft but firm. Then the juice is strained and canned. The softened apples are put through the strainer. Seeds, core, and skins, come out at the end of the cone in a semi-dry mass, ready for the compost pile or feed to the livestock. The sauce or puree is fed through the screen into your waiting bowl, ready to can. During the heat of summer, the oven is not the best idea, however, on a cool autumn night, it’s great.
